Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup brewed chai tea, cooled
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a doughnut pan
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt
In another bowl, combine the milk, brewed chai tea, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
Do not overmix
Spoon the batter into the greased doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the doughnuts spring back when lightly touched
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Optional: You can glaze the doughnuts with a chai-spiced glaze made with powdered sugar, chai tea, and a pinch of cinnamon
